Both legends had won multiple scoring titles during their NBA tenure, and Kobe Bryant even surpassed Michael Jordan in the all-time scoring chart.

The Black Mamba, as Bryant was affectionately known, spent his entire 20-year NBA journey donning the purple and gold of the Los Angeles Lakers. He was the Lakers' primary offensive weapon, even more so after Shaquille O'Neal left for the Miami Heat.

The Lakers legend took over MJ in the scoring list on December 14, 2014, during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center. There he scored his 32,292nd and 32,293rd points which allowed Kobe to pass Michael Jordan for the then-third place (now fourth) in the NBA’s all-time scoring rankings.

Kobe is fourth in the NBA all-time scoring list with a remarkable 33,643 career points, while Jordan sits fifth with 32,292 points.

Who has more scoring titles, Jordan or Bryant?

When it comes to scoring titles, Michael Jordan holds the edge over Kobe Bryant. Jordan secured ten scoring titles in his illustrious NBA career. In fact, he won seven consecutive scoring titles from 1987 to 1993, during his prime years with the Chicago Bulls superteam.

MJ again led the league in points from 1996 to 1998, when he returned to the NBA after a brief retirement. Jordan’s ability to put the ball in the basket with ruthless efficiency saw him secure the most scoring titles in NBA history.

In contrast, Kobe Bryant claimed two scoring titles in his career. He led the league in points during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons when he was the main man of the Lakeshow.

Who are the players with more points than Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan?

Only three players have surpassed the legendary Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in NBA career points–LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone.

With 36,928 points, Karl Malone is the third name on the all-time scoring charts, just ahead of Kobe. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the previous holder of the all-time scoring record, and he now sits second on the list with his legendary 38,387 points.

Then there is the incredible LeBron James, whose versatility and athleticism have redefined the game. With a combination of scoring, passing, and rebounding, LeBron has recorded more than 40,000 points and counting.

However, it is worth noting that both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant were fantastic two-way players. The fact that these icons of the game were able to deliver with such scoring consistency, while being defensive monsters, is really mind-boggling.
